I created the skeleton of Magic Battle’s graphics and gameplay, which is what I submitted for COMP9018 – Advanced Graphics. If any of you get an opportunity to do this course and haven’t done it yet, I highly recommend it! </plug>

You can play with it here.

Enjoy 🙂

I’ve started with an intentionally slow pace because I want to see how the balance plays out between using the keyboard and camera. Your fingers can press buttons a lot faster than you can move your body. That’s my current feeling, and I’ll speed it up as playtesting progresses.

It’s hard to say much about the gameplay with no opponent to play against, but I’m guessing that the actions are going to be frustratingly slow. It takes quite some time to dodge and fire, which doesn’t fit in my mind with the fast-paced battle experience you are looking for. Or are you aiming for a more thoughtful pace?
