Volunteers for University of Malaysia Kelantan (UMK)

University of Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) is seeking student volunteers to assist local students to improve their English. The program can be combined with a volunteer program on a local tropical island, a homestay program, batik making classes or include Malay Language classes. While perfect for TESOL students, the program is open to any students seeking a different international experience.

Key Roles of the volunteers :

  1. Peer Learning groups/ Study buddies to help UMK students overcome the fear of communicating in the English Language.
  2. As co – facilitator in  Co-curricular activities – English Camps, Drama, Cultural programs
  3. Create opportunities for UMK students to communicate in the English Language daily – in the hostels, going out for lunch & dinner together, playing games in the evenings etc.
  4. As a teacher assistant to help facilitate the teachers in the English language classroom activities

Accommodation is free and students will have free access to facilities on campus including pool, gymnasium etc and intercampus transport, and sponsored participation in outdoor activities.
