Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) are pleased to welcome students from Australia to The European Studies Program in the Munich International Summer University (MISU). The program will run from 2 – 27 February 2015, and will take place in Munich, Brussels and Vienna.

The European Studies Program takes place under the patronage of the Center for Applied Policy Research (CAP) at LMU in Munich. CAP is a university-based institution for political advising and research on European affairs.

Students will gain an understanding of the historical development, the economic, societal, political and philosophical dimensions of the European integration project and analyse Europe’s role as an international political and economic actor and its relations to different countries and regions of the world.

Throughout the seminars a particular emphasis will be on the Australian perspective on the various issues and policies discussed. Moreover, the course will also specifically focus on the relations between Europe and Australia and South East/East Asia and identify prospects and challenges for further developing the European-Australian partnership.

The classes are based on an interdisciplinary approach and combine different methodologies such as lectures, round-table discussions, group-work and students’ presentations.
