CIS Australia: Volunteer Abroad in Vietnam

Posted by on March 12th, 2015 · 2015, Science, Self funded, Volunteer

The Primate Rescue Centre in Vietnam is home to 140+ primates from 15 species, including several endangered species of the Langur primate family.

As a volunteer at the centre, you will be part of a team working in rehabilitation, breeding, research, conservation and habitat protection for primates. The overarching objective of the centre is to establish stable populations of highly endangered primate species in captivity so they can be part of repopulation, reintroduction and release programs.

Activities undertaken by volunteers include the preparation of food for animals, assisting keepers with husbandry, cleaning enclosures and paths, general maintenance and the refurbishment of the centre.
