UNSW Confucius Institute: 2015 Shanghai Business Study Tour

Posted by on March 26th, 2015 · 2015, Business, Language, Short courses, UNSW organised

We are delighted to cooperate again with SJTU to organise this unique study tour for students interested in the Business World of China. Students will need at least a Basic Level of Mandarin to be able to benefit from local company visits to places such as Bao Steel and UPS, and language classes held by SJTU.

The Shanghai Study Tour is an intensive 14-day program taking place from 29 June – 13 July 2015. It provides students the opportunity to directly experience life in Shanghai, which is rapidly emerging as one of the world’s most economically vibrant and diverse metropolises.

Fees: Tuition fees, accommodation, local transportation, meals and excursions are fully covered by the Confucius Institute. Students are required to pay for return international airfares, visa application fees and other on the ground expenses.

Eligibility: The study tours are open to all UNSW undergraduate students in all faculties that have an interest in Chinese language and culture.

Applications: Applications commence in late February and close on 10 April with interviews taking place throughout May and offers to successful applicants issued by early June. Applicants from all disciplines and career stages are encouraged to apply. The ideal applicants may currently or previously been enrolled in Chinese learning programs inside or outside university.

The application process is extremely competitive and students are required to attend a panel interview and demonstrate a firm interest in Chinese language and culture, an open and mature mindset to international travel and developing countries and some Chinese language proficiency. Please click here to apply to this study tour.

Please Note: Confucius Institute staff will attend Chinese language lectures and tutorials to promote the study tours in the opening weeks of Semester One. Current Chinese students will also be notified via Moodle in the opening weeks of Semester One.
