“Our experience of reality seems to be fundamentally created through the mediation of images. This highly networked world fascinates me, especially when the boundaries between virtuality and objective reality start to become blurred.” During his residency in NIEA’s The Rocks Pop-Up studio, Bento is attempting to signify this complex place by mapping this very specific location of The Rocks through collecting data such as garbage, posters, footsteps, dirt, etc.
Exhibition: Bento will be exhibiting documentation from his mapping investigations, and inviting the public to share in their own meditations on The Rocks, on the ground floor of 47 George Street throughout March.
