During the period of 11.11.11 and the full moon, Julie Shea and Leanne Berelowitz presented “Birdbrain”, an exhibition of multi-disciplinary artworks created using experimental art processes that challenge the norm.
Utilizing clay and the creativity of gallery visitors, spontaneous constructions transformed into poetry, drawings, video –“Birdbrain Pop Up” – and experience. The interaction of a bird with a wireless keyboard and it consequential influence on gallery participants metamorphosed into the video “The Dog’s Letter”. The processes and resulting manifestations destabilize and shift perceptions from the quotidian to stimulate introspection/extrospection in our ontological chase.
Julie and Leanne are both current students of the Master of Cross Disciplinary Art & Design COFA Online course, and are both practicing artists and art tutors.
