The PhD in Art and Design: A 3-year Leonardo Symposium
In 2017 the Leonardo Journal ( www.leonardo.info ) will celebrate the 50th anniversary of its founding. As part of our celebrations, we are initiating a three year symposium on the issues surrounding the development of the PhD in art and design.
The question of doctoral education and research training in art and design is now a major focus of international interest and debate. We are inviting contributions for the journal and for a series of reports and e-books that we will publish as the project moves forward.
We invite interested artists and designers as well as scientists and scholars to join this symposium with contributions. We are also interested in the views of institutional actors responsible for designing and implementing PhD programs in art and design.
