The experimental arts workshop developed in collaboration with the Leonardo Education and Arts Forum(a working group of Leonardo ® /ISAST), and the National Institute of Experimental Arts. The workshop identified quintessential characteristics that constitute experimental art and explored how these characteristics can be delivered through art education nationally and internationally. We are living in a time when there are significant questions and the need for experimentalism and problem finding is of great importance to engage and contribute to solutions.

The workshop results are relevant to teachers, curators, artists, arts administrators to assist in defining what might constitute experimental arts.

The four workshop leaders set the stage with short presentations that created provocations to stimulate discussion for workshop participants. The group’s comments were noted and used to present a summary of some of the essential elements and attributes that become part of a course outline for students.

The contents are now distributed online.
