{"id":357,"date":"2011-12-04T17:48:22","date_gmt":"2011-12-05T00:48:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.unsw.edu.au\/artsci\/blog\/2011\/12\/ars-bioarctica-artscience-residency-in-2012\/"},"modified":"2011-12-04T17:48:22","modified_gmt":"2011-12-05T00:48:22","slug":"ars-bioarctica-artscience-residency-in-2012","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.unsw.edu.au\/artsci\/blog\/2011\/12\/ars-bioarctica-artscience-residency-in-2012\/","title":{"rendered":"Ars Bioarctica art&amp;science residency in 2012"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Call for applications:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Ars Bioarctica art&amp;science residency in 2012<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Ars Bioarctica is long term art&amp;science program by the Finnish<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: medium\">Society of Bioart together with the Kilpisj\u00e4rvi Biological Station.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Since 2010 it is organizing an artist-in-residency program at the<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: medium\">Kilpisj\u00e4rvi Biological Station of the University of Helsinki in<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: medium\">the sub-Arctic Lapland.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">The emphasis of the residency is the Arctic environment and art&amp;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: medium\">science collaboration and is is open for artists and art&amp;science<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: medium\">research teams.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">The residency takes place in the facilities of the Kilpisj\u00e4rvi<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: medium\">Biological Station. It provides the residents with a combined<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: medium\">living and working environment, a basic laboratory, internet<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: medium\">connection and sauna.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">The Kilpisj\u00e4rvi Biological Station offers to the visiting artists<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: medium\">the same possibilities and infrastructure as its scientists and<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: medium\">staff. This includes access to all scientific equipment, laboratory<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: medium\">facilities, the library and seminar room as well as the usage of<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: medium\">field equipment.
