September 11th – 14th 2013, University of Roma 3, Rome, Italy<\/span><\/p>\n

The University of Roma 3, the University Erlangen-N\u00fcrnberg, the<\/span>
\nUniversity of the Aegean and Dublin City University are pleased to<\/span>
\nannounce that<\/span><\/p>\n

Prof. Kevin Warwick from the University of Reading<\/span>

will be the keynote speaker at the conference \u201cThe Posthuman\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

The specific focus of the Conference \u201cThe Posthuman: Differences,<\/span>
\nEmbodiments, and Performativity\u201d will be the posthuman, both in its<\/span>
\ngenealogies, as well as its theoretical, artistic and materialistic<\/span>
\ndifferences and possibilities. In order to guarantee a systematic<\/span>
\ntreatment of the topic, we will particularly focus on the following<\/span>
\nthemes:<\/span><\/p>\n

1. The Posthuman; 2. Philosophical Issues concerning the Posthuman; 3.<\/span>
\nNew Media Art, Graphic Arts and Comics, Design, Bioarts, Body Art,<\/span>
\nPerformance and the Posthuman; 4. Ethics, Bioethics, and the Moral<\/span>
\nStatus of the Posthuman; 5. Emerging Technologies, Posthuman<\/span>
\nInformatics and the Posthuman; 6. Materialism and Posthuman Existence;<\/span>
\n7. Posthuman Education<\/span><\/p>\n

We invite abstracts of up to 500 words, to be sent in MS Word and Pdf format<\/span>

Files should be named and submitted in the following manner:<\/span>
\nSubmission: First Name Last name.docx (or .doc) \/ .pdf<\/span>
\nExample: \u201cSubmission: MaryAndy.docx\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Abstracts should be received by May 15th 2013.<\/span>
\nAcceptance notifications will be sent out by June 15th.<\/span>
\nAll those accepted will receive information on the venue(s), local<\/span>
\nattractions, accommodations, restaurants, and planned receptions and<\/span>
\nevents for participants.<\/span>
\n*Presentations should be no longer than 20 minutes. Each presentation<\/span>
\nwill be given 10 additional minutes for questions and discussions with<\/span>
\nthe audience, for a total of 30 minutes.<\/span><\/p>\n

FEES & REGISTRATION<\/span><\/p>\n

A registration fee of \u20ac50 (65USD) will apply to all participants.<\/span><\/p>\n
