i am tracing every move with the app Strava, it uses the GPS on my phone. Doing thisis something i am not a big fan of, being monitored by a device, saved somewhere andwho knows who has acces to it? But i will to do it for art. Update: The GPS tracker is not the most accurate, when i don’t move for a while it scribbles lines by itself making a noisy mess.

i sat in the shopping center with my eyes closed for about 10 minutes, recording the sounds and listening very careful to all the different sounds:
-music
-shopping cart
-multiple shopping carts in a row
-footsteps
-baby crying
-chewing
-someone is on the phone
-cash register
-something falling/smashing
-people chatting
…then i walked around, while filming.
…and stopped on the first floor, looking down at the ground floor.
-a lot of people alone
-children
-food
-people sitting (waiting for something?)
-clothes
-loud noises
-elevator sound
-people calling
Mostly when i enter a shopping mall like this, i have a goal (to buy/get something). But today i was wondering around, listening, looking, feeling, smelling. This made me aware of all the noise that is in an environment. Mostly you filter trough all noise and go straight to your goal (go in and go out again), all of the people i saw were also very determined on their goal while walking there.
My final word is: NOISE
