For experiment 2 I began by photographing book pages in various positions and angles. This led me to a series of interesting effects where a blurring of pages occurred, as seen below.

From this image I decided to further explore this blurring effect. By distorting the image I was able to create a series of interesting works that have a fluidity about them, much like the flicking pages of a book. Whilst this image originally resembled a book, the below works are abstracted and have taken on a new persona that encourages the viewer to look more closely. For me, the images begun to remind me of the grain in timber when you cut it, or an expansive desert plain.

To further explore this effect, I took these five images and experimented with colour and light. By inverting the work I was able to achieve this blue and white effect that highlights the edges of the pages and some of the words on them. What I found from this is that the images begun to resemble die dropped into water, or blue and white paint partially mixed together.
