Since my first experiment was a digital piece, I knew that I wanted to play around with a physical material. This forced me to capture the human interaction with the material by means of photography, which has I typically avoid.<\/p>\n<p>Regardless, I began with my chosen material: yarn. After measuring, cutting, and knotting each length of yarn to two sticks &#8211; which happened to be two nail files due to a lack of extra hands &#8211; we were off to explore!<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.unsw.edu.au\/clic\/files\/2020\/01\/ACS_0369.jpg\"><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3897 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.unsw.edu.au\/clic\/files\/2020\/01\/ACS_0369-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.unsw.edu.au\/clic\/files\/2020\/01\/ACS_0369-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.unsw.edu.au\/clic\/files\/2020\/01\/ACS_0369-768x511.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.unsw.edu.au\/clic\/files\/2020\/01\/ACS_0369-1024x681.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.unsw.edu.au\/clic\/files\/2020\/01\/ACS_0369.jpg 1530w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Different areas of UNSW\u2019s Kensington campus were tested for this experiment. Slim alley ways were ideal, but not readily available. In order to get the depth and darkness I desired, we waited until a rainstorm approached and exploring different crouching positions and angles on a back entryway staircase. While we may have received countless strange looks and queries from passerbys, I had a great time branching out.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to this course, I would have seen a bundle of yarn and thought, \u201cOh, time to knit a scarf.\u201d Now, however, I see simple objects such as yarn as a catalyst for creative growth.
