{"id":1219,"date":"2015-11-03T00:38:07","date_gmt":"2015-11-03T00:38:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.unsw.edu.au\/daao\/?p=1219"},"modified":"2015-11-12T23:48:33","modified_gmt":"2015-11-12T23:48:33","slug":"acuads-supports-wa-content-expansion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.unsw.edu.au\/daao\/blog\/2015\/11\/acuads-supports-wa-content-expansion\/","title":{"rendered":"ACUADS supports WA content expansion"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div>\n<div>Thank you to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/acuads.com.au\/\">The Australian Council of University Art &amp; Design Schools (ACUADS)<\/a>\u00a0for funding an expansion of DAAO&#8217;s work in Western Australia this year.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div>As a national research tool, \u00a0DAAO aims to be representative of creative practice in every Australian state and territory. However, initiating content growth in any state requires time on the ground to run\u00a0feedback and training sessions and to\u00a0assess digital collection data. In short, we need initial resources to support\u00a0the DAAO community before\u00a0it can be self-sustaining.\u00a0\u00a0Gillian&#8217;s trip to WA this year was the first time we&#8217;ve had the opportunity to meet with\u00a0local researchers and collecting institutions on their own turf, and we found that interest from WA exceeded\u00a0our ability to respond.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div>Thanks to support from ACUADS, initiated by Prof. Marie Sierra, we were able to extend our work in WA and complete a data sharing partnership with\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.artsource.net.au\/\">Artsource<\/a>,\u00a0the peak membership body for visual artists in the state. \u00a0The partnership resulted in the creation of\u00a0<strong>416 NEW records<\/strong>, and still more data being added to existing stub records. \u00a0This is a fantastic result and we\u00a0hope that this will become a bigger data partnership in future.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div>There is so much great work being done in WA, it&#8217;s great to be making new inroads in the area.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thank you to\u00a0The Australian Council of University Art &amp; Design Schools (ACUADS)\u00a0for funding an expansion of DAAO&#8217;s work in Western Australia this year.
