{"id":1410,"date":"2012-01-19T21:30:30","date_gmt":"2012-01-20T04:30:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.unsw.edu.au\/globaled\/?p=1410"},"modified":"2012-01-19T21:31:23","modified_gmt":"2012-01-20T04:31:23","slug":"blue-award-2012","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.unsw.edu.au\/globaled\/blog\/2012\/01\/blue-award-2012\/","title":{"rendered":"Blue Award 2012: Vienna University of Technology"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><strong>International Student Award<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Topic: Sustainability<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Department for Spatial and Sustainable Design, Vienna University of Technology organizes together with the Society of Architecture and Spatial Design biannually the BLUE AWARD, an\u00a0<strong>international student competition for sustainable architecture<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The competition is open to university students of Bachelor\u2019s and Master\u2019s Degree programs, as well as students working on a diploma thesis or dissertation, in the academic fields of architecture, urbanism or regional planning. The submitted project must be part of a supervised coursework,\u00a0having taken place during one of the following semesters: Summer Semester 2010, Winter Semester 2010\/11, Summer Semester 2011 and Winter Semester 2011\/12.<\/p>\n<p>The competition awards projects addressing the topic of sustainability.\u00a0\u00a0The economical, cultural and social dimensions of sustainable development should be equal in significance to the classical problems of technique and function.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.unsw.edu.au\/globaled\/files\/2012\/01\/Vienna-Uni-of-Tech-Blue-Award-2012.pdf\">The Blue Award 2012<\/a>\u00a0will be handed out in <strong>three categories<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Category 1\u00a0&#8211; Urban Development and Transformation, Landscape Development<br \/>\nCategory 2\u00a0&#8211; Ecological Building<br \/>\nCategory 3\u00a0&#8211; Building in Existing Structures<\/p>\n<p>The British architect <strong>Sir Michael Hopkins<\/strong> will be Honorary President of the jury.<\/p>\n<p>Awards Ceremony and Exhibition Opening will take place on April 26, 2012 at the TU Vienna.<\/p>\n<p>Catalog:\u00a0\u00a0the prize winners will be published.<\/p>\n<p>Start of Submission: October 1st, 2011<br \/>\n<strong>Submission Deadline: February 1st, 2012<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Registration<\/strong>:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.blueaward.at\/\">www.blueaward.at<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Contact<\/strong>:<br \/>\n<a href=\"mailto:office2533@raumgestaltung.tuwien.ac.at\">office2533@raumgestaltung.tuwien.ac.at<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"mailto:office@blueaward.at\">office@blueaward.at<\/a><\/p>\n<p>If successful, students should notify <a href=\"mailto:c.schedlich@unsw.edu.au\">c.schedlich@unsw.edu.au<\/a> or <a href=\"mailto:m.kofod@unsw.edu.au\">m.kofod@unsw.edu.au<\/a>\u00a0at the UNSW\u00a0Global Education and Student Exchange Office.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>International Student Award Topic: Sustainability\u00a0 The Department for Spatial and Sustainable Design, Vienna University of Technology organizes together with the Society of Architecture and Spatial Design biannually the BLUE AWARD, an\u00a0international student competition for sustainable architecture.
