It is for encouraging and providing Australians with opportunities to increase the understanding of local culture and society as well as to promote mutual understanding and interaction between Australia and Taiwan.<\/p>\n<p>For details of the Scholarship Guidelines and Recipients\u2019 rights and obligations, please visit <a href=\"http:\/\/english.moe.gov.tw\/ct.asp?xItem=6777&amp;CtNode=10634&amp;mp=1\">the 2012 Huayu Enrichment Scholarship<\/a> website.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Award Value:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A monthly stipend of NTD25, 000.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligible Program(s) Duration:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mandarin learning courses will include 2 months of summer classes (from June to August in 2012 only), 3 months, 6 months, 9 months or a year respectively.<\/p>\n<p>With the exception of summer classes in 2012, in principle, the duration of the HES is from 1<sup>st<\/sup> September, 2012 to 31<sup>st<\/sup> August, 2013.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>To be eligible to apply for the 2012 HES, applicants must:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0Be an Australian citizen above the age of 18<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0 Posse a high school diploma (year 12) or above with excellent academic performance.<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0 Be of good moral character.<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0Apply directly for admission to \u201ca registered Mandarin Language Centre approved by the MOE\u201d listed on our website.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Applicants for ineligibility to apply include the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0 Are R.O.C nationals or overseas Chinese students.<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0Currently are registered students at a Mandarin Language Centre or have been degree seeking students at any universities or colleges in Taiwan.<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0 Were previously recipients of HES or Taiwan Scholarship.<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0Are currently recipients of HES or Taiwan Scholarship<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0 Are exchange students to Taiwan during the scholarship period.<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0 Are currently receiving any financial benefits from Taiwan or other educational institutions in Taiwan.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Closing Date:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Friday, 13 April 2012<\/p>\n<p><strong>Date for release of Selection Result:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Monday, 23 April 2012<\/p>\n<p><strong>Date for Submission of Approved Admission Letter to our Office:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Saturday, 30 June 2012<\/p>\n<p>*Note: Apply for admission according to the regulations of the centre. Once admitted, the recipients should send a copy of Admission Letter to our Office for confirmation. Recipients who do not send their Letters before 30 June, 2012 will be disqualified from the scholarship selection process.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Form:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Application Forms can be collected from the UNSW Global Education Office.<\/p>\n<p>Applications should include:<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0 An original Application Form.<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0 A copy of the Australian Passport.<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0 A copy of the highest degree and academic transcripts (all certificates must be in English).<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0 Evidence of lodged admission to Mandarin Language Centre(s) in Taiwan.<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0 Two referral letters signed and sealed in envelopes such as from principals, professors or supervisors.<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0 The Terms of Agreement Ministry of Education Huayu Enrichment Scholarship Program (HES) Form<\/p>\n<p><strong>UNSW students who are eligible for the schoalrship should contact the GEO by email: <a href=\"mailto:advisor4globaled@unsw.edu.au\">advisor4globaled@unsw.edu.au<\/a> before March 26th 2012. <\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Application for 2012 Huayu Enrichment Scholarship (HES) is now OPEN.
