Montpellier\u00a0is a historical city, famous for its university, one of the oldest in Europe, its ideal location on the shores of the Mediterranean, a stone’s throw away from\u00a0Provence\u00a0and\u00a0Spain\u00a0and its cultural life (international dance and music festival).<\/p>\n
The Institut M\u00e9diterran\u00e9en de Langues & Services (IMLS) aims at combining education with culture and\u00a0Community Service. Through the partnership with the Montpellier Acad\u00e9mie, the IMLS has an agreement for \u00ab\u00a0associations \u00e9ducatives compl\u00e9mentaires de l\u2019enseignement public\u00a0\u00bb.\u00a0It forms the relation between universities in\u00a0France\u00a0and abroad and offers specific services for students wishing to immerse themselves in the French culture and experience the distinctness of Europe\u00a0(administrative procedures, registration, academic courses, housing and excursions).<\/p>\n
Students maximize their stay by combining theory and practice: academic study at the university, a cultural experience shared with host family as well as a\u00a0deep immersion into the community through volunteer services in hospitals, NGOs and schools,\u00a0depending on their skills and interests. International students respond enthusiastically to this alternative form of education which allows them to get a holistic view of the country while developing specific skills and growing from a linguistic, cultural and personal point of view.
