{"id":4054,"date":"2014-08-07T21:27:09","date_gmt":"2014-08-08T04:27:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.unsw.edu.au\/globaled\/?p=4054"},"modified":"2014-08-07T21:29:38","modified_gmt":"2014-08-08T04:29:38","slug":"new-colombo-plan-scholarship-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.unsw.edu.au\/globaled\/blog\/2014\/08\/new-colombo-plan-scholarship-program\/","title":{"rendered":"New Colombo Plan Scholarship Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The New Colombo Plan is a signature initiative of the Australian Government that aims to lift knowledge of the Indo-Pacific in Australia and strengthen our people-to-people and institutional relationships, through study and work placement undertaken by Australian undergraduate students in the region.<\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Valued at up to AU$67,000 the New Colombo Plan &#8211; Scholarship Program provides the opportunity for Australian undergraduates to undertake study in one of the destinations countries.<\/p>\n<p><em> <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Destination Countries:<\/em> 2015 NCP\u00a0study\u00a0locations for UNSW Exchange are China, India, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The program also includes provision for relevant language studies and internship \/ mentorship components.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>UNSW is calling for expressions of interest from students wishing to go on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.international.unsw.edu.au\/outbound-opportunities\/student-exchange\/\">Student Exchange<\/a> to one of the destination countries <strong>between 1 January 2015 and 31 December 2015. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>To be eligible for nomination you must be: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>be an Australian citizen. Applicants with dual citizenship, permanent residency or similar in another country\/location are eligible, however, they must undertake their Scholarship in a third Host Location, in which they do not have citizenship or residency rights;<\/li>\n<li>be between 18 and 28 (inclusive) years of age as at 1 January 2015;<\/li>\n<li>be undertaking a Bachelor Degree or Bachelor Honours Degree at the commencement of the Scholarship Program.
