This interdisciplinary program introduces students to current discussions, research and policy efforts on renewable energy, with a special focus on conflicts associated with the topic.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Program details<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Course \u201cGlobal Decisions, Local Actors\u201d, including a simulation on energy policy<\/li>\n<li>Individual group projects, guided by experts from diverse sectors of renewable energy<\/li>\n<li>Guest lectures<\/li>\n<li>Field trips, incl. a 2-day excursion to Brussels (EU-Commission), visits to international organizations, research institutes and local renewable energy projects in and around Bonn<\/li>\n<li>5-day excursion to Berlin at the end of the program<\/li>\n<li>Introductory orientation workshop on German culture<\/li>\n<li>\u201cBuddy\u201d program offering intercultural exchange in Bonn<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The program is entirely conducted in English.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility\u00a0Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Undergraduate students from various fields having completed at least one year of study<\/li>\n<li>GPA 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale)<\/li>\n<li>German language skills are not required (program is conducted entirely in English)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><strong>Program fee:<\/strong> <\/strong>3,920.00 Euro<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interested students apply online through website <a href=\"http:\/\/www.renewableenergy.uni-bonn.de\/\">www.renewableenergy.uni-bonn.de<\/a> by<strong> March 15, 2015.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>UNSW students who are accepted into the program should also complete the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.unsw.edu.au\/globaled\/files\/2015\/03\/UNSW-GEP-Registration-Form1.pdf\">UNSW GEP Registration Form<\/a> and return it to <a href=\"mailto:advisor4globaled@unsw.edu.au\">advisor4globaled@unsw.edu.au<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Credit Transfer Process<\/strong>:<br \/>\nAs this is a fee-paying program students who wish to receive academic credit must apply for credit through\u00a0<em>Cross Institutional Studies<\/em>.\u00a0If you have any questions about how this works please email <a href=\"mailto:advisor4globaled@unsw.edu.au\">advisor4globaled@unsw.edu.au<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The University of Bonn will offer its 5-week summer school Renewable Energy: Policy and Development from 1 July \u2013 4 August 2015.
