Law Global Law Programs 2012 &#8211; Herstmonceux Castle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Global Law Programs at the Bader International Study Centre (\u201cBISC\u201d) are intensive and integrated academic programs at Queen\u2019s University\u2019s Herstmonceux Castle in England.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Students at our exchange partner law schools can apply to enroll in 8-week programs in <strong>International Business Law<\/strong> or <strong>Public International Law<\/strong> in May and June, 2012<strong>.\u00a0 <\/strong>\u00a0In addition, a new 2-week course in <strong>The Philosophy of International Law<\/strong> is being offered for the first time in July 2012.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0The BISC, owned and operated by Queen\u2019s University, Canada, is on the historic 500-acre Herstmonceux Castle estate in East Sussex (100 km south-east of London).\u00a0 It is a remarkable place to study, with easy access to the rest of Britain and to Europe.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">International Business Law<\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"> and Public International Law Programs<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Students spend six weeks in the classroom at the BISC, and there is a week-long field trip to international legal organizations on the continent.\u00a0 The field trip includes briefings with senior legal advisors and, where possible, senior Canadian representatives to the organizations.<\/p>\n<p>Students can apply for a Letter of Permission to their home university to earn nine credits for successfully completing one of the programs. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<strong>International Business Law (Geneva)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Instructors<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A wide range of distinguished instructors teach the programs.\u00a0 Instructors in previous years have included a judge and senior prosecutor from the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, senior Foreign Affairs Canada legal officials from Ottawa and posted in Europe, legal counsel to the ICC International Court of Arbitration in Paris, lawyers from the London office of Clifford Chance and the Paris office of White and Case, and law professors from around the world.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<strong>Application Information<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Information about the application process, fees, and financial aid can be found on the website.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Queen\u2019s and Dalhousie Law students have admissions priority until October 28, 2011, but there are usually some places available for applicants from other law schools after that date.\u00a0 Students are encouraged to apply early, as applications from
