From the simulacrum of New York presented in Grand Theft Auto IV, to the stark utilitarian city planning projects, isotropic space is given texture through our imaginative spatial practice.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Big Shake-up\u201d explores fictional space, and the generation of meaning in the ground between the Real and the Imagined. While real-spaces are inhabited by the imagination, imagined spaces are constructed through collaged images of the real.<\/p>\n

Via contemporary computer game design technologies, the artist will attempt to create a real space out of the imagined. The experiment will act as a case-study for our phenomenological experience of space.<\/p>\n

Joshua Harle is a PhD candidate working between School of Design, COFA, and the Faculty of the Built Environment, UNSW. He is a member of the Real-time Porosity lab, researching Phenomenology and Politics of Space.<\/em><\/p>\n
