Admit it: the UNSW library is awesome. So many floors, so much stuff to see and do, so many psychedelic colours and hidden nooks and crannies to explore! Whoever designed it deserves a big piece of cake.
It’s my favourite place to study on campus, but it also seems to be everyone else’s favourite place, too: it’s almost always full of people. Sometimes it can be hard to find a free, quiet space – especially if you are new.
So, here’s my handy pictorial guide to the top study spots in the UNSW Library.
-
Booths
A great place to sit and study with friends.
-
Private Cubicles
These individual desks located on level 3 are always perfect when I’m in need of some hardcore concentration!
-
Beanbags
Because we’re all guilty of needing an occasional (or daily) mid-day nap!
-
Desk with a view
My all-time favourite study spot! Make sure you get in early 🙂
-
The ‘regular’ desks
Perfect for a bit of last minute homework on the way to class.
-
Study rooms
Great place to work on group assignments.
-
Larger study rooms with whiteboards 😉
The big study rooms on level 4 have floor to ceiling whiteboards – perfect for visual learners!
-
Postgraduate study space
It’s good that postgraduate students can study in their own private space. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get in but I’m sure its great!
-
Circular desks
Located in the side areas of level 3 and 4, these tables are actually a very efficient shape! They can be used independently, or pushed together for collaboration.
-
Library lawn
A relaxing place for reading or a nice study break where you can soak in some vitamin D.
-
Quiet study floors
A silent spot for those of you who can’t deal with background noise.
-
The aisles
If everywhere else is taken, leaning against the shelves is not a bad option.
Hahaha! Very lovely <3
