Louisa Hartley \u2013\u00a0Bachelor of Architectural Studies<\/strong><\/p>\n Where I\u2019m working during my studies, most of the people came from UNSW \u2013 it definitely acted as a leg-up within the work arena. I really like the campus, it\u2019s a place I want to study and it\u2019s really friendly. It\u2019s welcoming and accepting.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Kirsten Banks \u2013\u00a0Bachelor of Science<\/strong><\/p>\n There\u2019s a telescope on top of one of the buildings! The university has a very welcoming feel to it. It\u2019s a huge campus and it\u2019s very exciting to see a whole new place for me to explore.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Kade Newell –\u00a0Bachelor of International Studies<\/strong><\/p>\n You can do overseas experiences that are incredible and invaluable \u2013 academically and personally. I went to Amsterdam and Singapore and you get to travel and meet wonderful people and make network connections. At UNSW there’s a lot of flexibility, being able to do exchanges not just for one semester – I did a year abroad and I undertook short courses overseas too.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Ashna Basu –\u00a0Doctor of Medicine<\/strong><\/p>\n My mentor, who I worked with for over a year, was recently awarded the Australian Mental Health prize. As early as my fourth year I got to work with someone like that and someone who is an Order of Australia, who has made a significant contribution within Australia and globally to mental health. I can\u2019t foresee another circumstance in which I would\u2019ve been able to learn from him in such a way.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n I remember after Year 12 I walked onto the campus during \u2018O Week\u2019 \u2013 and it was vibrant, very inviting, very friendly. Societies want you to join and people want to talk to you and it\u2019s a very social university, so you get to meet people from different faculties. I didn\u2019t get that feeling at the other universities when I went to their open days.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Throughout your degree you are given constant assistance about how best to focus your research ability, you\u2019re constantly learning how to find relevant information, how to apply it in real life. That means you can be on the front foot because you\u2019ve got that head start that UNSW gives you. It makes the transition to the workplace environment a lot easier and you feel a lot more confident as a result.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Dennis Golding \u2013\u00a0Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours)<\/strong><\/p>\n UNSW has created a great community environment, which is the most important thing that the university offers to students. In my degree, there are also great studio creative facilities and resources and fantastic opportunities that have been afforded to me.
