The National Art School, Gadigal Land (Sydney) Australia<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Situated in Darlinghurst, an inner-city suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, the National Art School (NAS) is a tertiary-level institution dedicated to the study of studio arts practice across diverse disciplines. As an independent accredited higher education provider, NAS has a rich history dating back to the establishment of the Sydney Mechanics’ School of Arts in 1843. Since 1922, it has been operating on the historic site of Darlinghurst Gaol in East Sydney, originally as part of East Sydney Technical College. Today, NAS serves as a hub for education, research, scholarship, and professional practice in the visual arts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to its function as an educational institution, NAS presents a professionally curated annual public exhibition program. Exhibition spaces on campus include the Rayner Hoff Project Space and the two-story NAS Gallery, which features up to four major public exhibitions each year, along with the annual NAS Grad Shows highlighting the work of graduating students.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Cell Block Theatre at The National Art School<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Cell Block Theatre was originally the women\u2019s prison in the Old Darlinghurst Gaol. The sandstone building features soaring ceilings and a newly upgraded state of the art lighting and sound system. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
