Visual communication through graphical or sign languages has long been
\nconducted among human beings of different backgrounds or cultures, and
\nin recent decades between human and machine. In today’s digital world,
\nvisual information is typically encoded with various metaphors
\ncommonly used in daily life to facilitate rapid comprehension and easy
\nanalysis during the communication process. Visual information
\ncommunication generally encompasses information visualization,
\ngraphical user-interfaces, visual analytics, and visual languages.
\nVisual information is increasingly being used to facilitate
\nhuman-human communication through the Internet and mobile devices.<\/p>\n
The Symposium on Visual Information Communication and Interaction Papers can be submitted as full papers, short papers and posters. All 1. PAPER SUBMISSION<\/p>\n ===================<\/p>\n Submissions that address research and development, as well as
\n(VINCI) (vinci-conf.org<\/a>) is the premier international forum for
\nresearchers and industrial practitioners to discuss the
\nstate-of-the-art in visual communication theories, designs, and
\napplications. The 9th International Symposium on Visual Information
\nCommunication and Interaction (VINCI ’16) will be held on 24-26
\nSeptember 2016, in Dallas, TX, USA, in the heart of the complex of
\nover 600 major multinational technology corporations, with 47 non-stop
\nflights to international destinations.<\/p>\n
\naccepted papers will be published by ACM Press and made available in
\nthe ACM Digital Library (EI indexed). Authors of a number of selected
\nfull papers of high quality will be invited to submit revised versions
\nof their works to a special issue of the Journal of Visual Languages
\nand Computing (Elsevier, SCI indexed). In addition, revised versions
\nof selected best papers in art and design will be invited for
\nsubsequent publication in a special issue of Leonardo (MIT Press, AHCI
\nindexed).<\/p>\n
\naspects of visual information communication and interaction, either
\nvia images, computer graphics, animations, virtual reality, web, or
\nother media. Research papers may address cognitive and design aspects,
\nunderlying theories, taxonomies, implementation work, tool support,
\nand case studies. Topics of interest include but are not limited to

\nexperience reports and tool demonstrations on the above and other
\nrelated topics are strongly encouraged. Papers can be submitted as
\nfull papers, short papers and posters. Each submitted symposium paper
\nwill be peer-reviewed by at least three International Program
\nCommittee members. All accepted papers and posters will appear in the
\nproceedings of VINCI\u20192016 published by ACM Press and made available in
\nthe ACM Digital Library (EI indexed). Moreover, authors of a number of
\nselected full papers of high quality will be invited to prepare
\nrevised versions of their work for submission to a special issue of
\nthe Journal of Visual Languages and Computing (Elsevier; SCI indexed).
