AESTHETICS get SYNTHETIC: Knowledge Link through Art and Science (KLAS)<\/p>\n
A new artist in residence program is taking shape!<\/p>\n
High profile artists, with a strong interest in the intersections
\nbetween arts and sciences, will be selected to interact with
\noutstanding scientist of the @Max Planck Institutes in Potsdam and the
\nUniversity of Groningen<\/p>\n
KLAS creates a link between Synthetic Biology groups of leading
\ninstitutions and aims to foster ArtSci exchanges and innovation, while
\nstrengthening knowledge transfer.<\/p>\n
KLAS@MPI program will also help to the development of artists as well
\nas helping to create a new epistemological turn. It is also consistent
\nwith the ideas and interests of the science to society EU agenda as it
\nwill internationalize the cutting edge research of Potsdam MPIs,
\nincrease the awareness of the public on hot scientific topics and
\nfavour transnational scientific partnerships establishing a yearly
\nevent grounded in its ideas.
\nAesthetics get Synthetic has gattered an excellent Honorary Board [it
\nincludes: Prof. Horst Bredekamp (Humbolt U.), Prof. Sabine Freifrau
\nvon Schorlemer (UNESCO chair for international relations-Dresden U.),
\nDr. Jens Hauser (U. of Copenhagen), Prof. Oscar Kuipers (RuG), Prof.
\nReinhard Lipowsky (MPIKG), Prof. Hans-J\u00f6rg Rheinberger (MPIWG), Prof.
\nLothar Willmitzer (MPIMP], as well as a strong and multidisciplinary
\nAdvisory Committee [Prof. Roger Malina (physicist, Dallas U.), Prof.
\nJosep Perello (physicist, Barcelona U.), Prof. Viktoria Tkaczyk
\n(literature and sociology, MPIWG), Prof. Nathalie Singer (Modern Music
