{"id":3184,"date":"2016-11-02T04:13:00","date_gmt":"2016-11-02T11:13:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.unsw.edu.au\/tiic\/?p=3184"},"modified":"2016-11-03T19:41:55","modified_gmt":"2016-11-04T02:41:55","slug":"ars-bioarctica-residency-2017-open-call-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.unsw.edu.au\/tiic\/blog\/2016\/11\/ars-bioarctica-residency-2017-open-call-2\/","title":{"rendered":"CFAR: Ars Bioarctica Residency 2017 \u2013 Open Call"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Application deadline 31st December 2016<\/p>\n<p>Since 2010 the Bioartsociety is organizing the ARS BIOARCTICA RESIDENCY<br \/>\nPROGRAM together with the Kilpisj\u00e4rvi Biological Station of the<br \/>\nUniversity of Helsinki in the sub-Arctic Lapland.<\/p>\n<p>Until now more then 90 artists, scientists, and practitioners have been<br \/>\ndeveloping work at the Station on topics related to biology, ecology<br \/>\nand life sciences.<\/p>\n<p>The residency takes place in the facilities of the Kilpisj\u00e4rvi<br \/>\nBiological Station of the University of Helsinki. It provides the<br \/>\nresidents with a combined living and working environment, a basic<br \/>\nlaboratory, internet connection and sauna.<\/p>\n<p>The Kilpisj\u00e4rvi Biological Station offers to the residents the same<br \/>\npossibilities and infrastructure as its scientists and staff. This<br \/>\nincludes access to scientific equipment, laboratory facilities, the<br \/>\nlibrary and seminar room as well as the usage of field equipment. A<br \/>\ndedicated mentor in Kilpisj\u00e4rvi will familiarise residents with the<br \/>\nlocal environment and customs.<\/p>\n<p>The emphasis of the residency is on art&amp;science collaboration, and the<br \/>\nsub Arctic environment. It is open for artists, scientists and<br \/>\ninterdisciplinary research teams.<\/p>\n<p>Applications have to include:<br \/>\n\u2022 a completed application form available via<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/bioartsociety.fi\/ars-bioarctica-residency\">http:\/\/bioartsociety.fi\/ars-bioarctica-residency<\/a><br \/>\n\u2022 a CV<br \/>\n\u2022 a work plan<\/p>\n<p>Travel to and within Finland to Kilpisj\u00e4rvi as well as the<br \/>\naccommodation at the Station have to be covered by the applicant.
