{"id":3217,"date":"2016-11-18T22:17:10","date_gmt":"2016-11-19T05:17:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.unsw.edu.au\/tiic\/?p=3217"},"modified":"2016-11-18T22:17:10","modified_gmt":"2016-11-19T05:17:10","slug":"cfr-manifest-artist-residency-award-201718","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.unsw.edu.au\/tiic\/blog\/2016\/11\/cfr-manifest-artist-residency-award-201718\/","title":{"rendered":"CFR: Manifest Artist Residency Award 2017\/18"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"style20\"><span class=\"style60\">M.A.R.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><span class=\"style77\">Manifest Artist Residency Award 2017\/18<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span class=\"style80\"><strong>Deadline for Application:<\/strong>\u00a0 April 9, 2017<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Notification of Selection:\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0 On or around May 1, 2017<\/p>\n<p><strong>Residency commences:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 By July 1, 2017 (for a one year period)<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"style40\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"style5\">Artists are invited to submit complete applications to Manifest&#8217;s\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Manifest Artist Residency<\/strong>\u00a0program<strong>\u00a0(MAR).<\/strong>Applications will be reviewed on a competitive basis. One or two artists will be selected as the recipient(s) of the MAR award which consists of the following:\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"style5\">Free 24\/7 use of a private studio consisting of (for one artist) approximately five hundred square feet of studio and display space (two north-lit rooms and a hallway) for a period of one year (including nominal utilities). In the event that two separate applicants are each awarded the residency,* each will receive one room, with some shared common space including hallway, storage, and restroom.<\/li>\n<li class=\"style5\">Free\u00a0<em>Drawing League<\/em>\u00a0Membership at Manifest Drawing Center which provides access to approximately 400 hours of life drawing sessions through weekly Open Figure and semi-regular Drawing Marathon offerings.<\/li>\n<li class=\"style5\">The artist will be given consideration for teaching courses in our studio program, for pay, during the course of the residency. This will be contingent upon suitability and qualifications, as well as course enrollment, and will be determined by the Coordinator of the Drawing Center program.<\/li>\n<li class=\"style5\">Regular public exposure of artwork and studio during Manifest exhibit receptions to well over 2000 members of the public.<\/li>\n<li class=\"style5\">The opportunity to submit to any and all of Manifest\u2019s calls for entry for which the artist is eligible, with the entry fees waived for all submissions. Works submitted by the Resident Artist will still be juried through the blind jury process used for all Manifest projects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"style5\">The participation in a MAR Showcase exhibit in the gallery near the conclusion of the Residency. This is contingent upon approval by the Director and the\u00a0availability of suitable work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"style5\">If a show is presented, the Resident Artist&#8217;s exhibited work will be featured in a chapter of that season&#8217;s Manifest Exhibition Annual publication.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"style5\">The\u00a0 presentation of an artist talk to the public at or near the conclusion of the Residency.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.manifestgallery.org\/mar\/\">More information&gt;&gt;&gt;<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; M.A.R.
