This time with the invaluable sponsorship of\u00a0<em>Arts Connections Foundation<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>We are working towards \u201cnormalizing\u201d\u00a0<em>New Media Art<\/em>\u00a0and making it available, on a regular basis on the existing art spaces in Spain. The prior calls and prizes were a complete success both from the point of view of the quality and quantity presented, as for the impact that this art obtained in JustMad 6 and 7. In 2016, JustMad was atended by 25,000 visitors and welcomed 50 galleries from around the globe. Media coverage also reached a high point with hundreds of articles on the press as well as on important TV programs. Thanks to this repercussion EX was invited to participate from november 29 to december 5, on the 10th edition of Pinta Miami \u2013 a contemporary fair satelite of ArtBasel \u2013 and one of the most important art fairs of iberoamerica.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of the collaboration between EX and JustMAD, EX will also curate a complete section devoted entirely to electronic art within JustMAD8.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s call will offer\u00a0<strong>two prizes<\/strong>, sponsored generously by Arts Connection foundation, in its long support to New Media Art. A 2500 \u20ac cash prize and a Residency to be developed at \u00a0<em>Arts Connection\u00a0Foundation<\/em>\u00a0spaces at Miami.<\/p>\n<p>The terms of the Residency include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Round-trip airplane ticket<\/li>\n<li>One month residency<\/li>\n<li>1000 \u20ac for subsistence allowance<\/li>\n<li>Access to wifi and audio and video devices<\/li>\n<li>Presentation at Miami New Media Festival<\/li>\n<li>Personal exhibition at\u00a0<em>Arts Connection<\/em><em>Foundation spaces.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The winning works will be exhibited at the New Media section.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Guidelines<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Open to artists or groups regardless of age or nationality<\/li>\n<li>Each author or group may submit one work as maximum<\/li>\n<li>Artists selected on our previous call can\u2019t apply<\/li>\n<li>The call will select a maximum of 5 works to be exhibited in JustMAD8<\/li>\n<li>At the time of presentation, works should be completed or nearing completion<\/li>\n<li>The works may already have been exhibited, but will be preferred unpublished works<\/li>\n<li>The languages supported on this call are: Spanish, Catalan, Galician, English and Italian<\/li>\n<li>Authors must provide every material needed for the exhibition of their works<\/li>\n<li>The artist, or a person designated by them will be responsible for the assembly and disassembly of their works<\/li>\n<li>During the celebration of the fair, the organization will provide surveillance 24 hours a day, but neither JUSTMAD8 nor EX will be held responsible for any damage that the works may suffer during the exhibition period<\/li>\n<li>The author or the person designated must be present for start-up and shutdown of works. If don\u2019t, they must provide simple instructions for this purpose<\/li>\n<li>The artist must provide a contact telephone number so that if the work shows any problems during exhibition, it can be fixed as soon as possible<\/li>\n<li>The documentation for participation in this call will be sent through the contact form of this website (end of text) and the JustMAD8 contact page<\/li>\n<li>Participation in the competition implies full acceptance of these rules<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Selection criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The call is focused on experimental New Media Art, so the experimental bias, their capacity for aesthetic innovation and the reflection on the means used should be considered. Works in all formats and supports will be considered: interactive installations, App Art, virtual reality, augmented reality, net.art, sound sculpture, etc., provided that they can be displayed within the available exhibition space and respond to the stated conditions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Schedule and Deadline<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reception of projects: from 0:00 (Spanish time) of\u00a0<strong>November 23, 2016<\/strong>, until\u00a0<strong>January 3, 2017<\/strong>\u00a0at 24:00 (Spanish time).<\/li>\n<li>Results will be posted on the website of EX and JustMAD8 on\u00a0<strong>January 10<\/strong>, Tuesday, and the winners will be notified by email<\/li>\n<li>The mounting of the piece will be performed from Monday 20 February, and the dismantling on Sunday 26, from 19:00<\/li>\n<li>All works will be exhibited from February 21 to February 26, 2017 in the New Media section, in\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.coam.org\/es\/sede\/alquiler-espacios\">LASEDE<\/a>\u00a0at COAM (Official College of Architects of Madrid), during the celebration of the JustMAD8 emerging art fair<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Documentation required<\/strong>\u00a0(see contact form at the bottom of the page):<\/p>\n<p>Link or download to the work done, or nearing completion, with all necessary documentation for their understanding, preferably on video<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Comment on the work (maximum 600 characters)<\/li>\n<li>Technical description of the work (maximum 600 characters)<\/li>\n<li>Technical requirements. Size of the artwork and spatial needings<\/li>\n<li>Curriculum Vitae (maximum 600 characters)<\/li>\n<li>Description of artists\u00b4 career and interests (600 characters maximum)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Jury:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe jury will be announced during the course of this call and in any case, shall consist of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Two members designated by EX.
