The Planetary Collegium\u2019s 12th Annual international Research Conference,
\n Consciousness Reframed: art and consciousness in the post-biological era.<\/strong>
\n November 30 to December 2 – CCB, Lisbon
\n Free attendance*<\/p>\n

Portugal hosts The Planetary Collegium\u2019s 12th Annual international Research Conference, a network of researchers focused in the crossings of art, science, technology and consciousness studies, founded by Roy Ascott.<\/p>\n

CR12 will be a three days forum for transdisciplinary discussion in Lisbon, gathering more than sixty artists, designers, architects, performers, musicians, scientists, writers and researchers from about 20 different countries. Featuring special guests Jos\u00e9 Manuel Anes, Lusitana Fonseca, Stephan A. Schwartz and guest artists Marta de Menezes, Leonel Moura, Ant\u00f3nio Cerveira Pinto e Emanuel Pimenta.<\/p>\n

The conference will look at art as behaviour of mind, embedded in the physical world, but articulating its immateriality. Just as institutionalized art, with its tired orthodoxies of instruction, production and distribution, is challenged by the new technologies of knowing and perception, so our sense of self – its singularity and authenticity – is open to reconstruction and reinterpretation. Transdisciplinary discourse, the adoption of new technologies, the invisible forces and fields of the sciences, the recuperation of abandoned metaphysical and spiritual models of being, can all find expression within the context of this conference.<\/p>\n

A Skilled Art Event – a R&D consortium promoted by Artshare, having as partners The University of Aveiro, The University of Porto and The Planetary Collegium – University of Plymouth, partially supported by Compete, QREN, EU. CR12 is organized by Artshare in cooperation with The Planetary Collegium and F\u00e1brica das Artes\/CCB, supported by Foundation of Sciene and Technology, Lisbon, Portugal.
