In IT we are excited and energised by the 2025 Strategy. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We believe UNSW IT is in a great position to support the University in its commitment to transform lives through excellence, to become something different to what we are today and to support our customers through the same journey.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

To enable this, we have created a new IT collaboration and co-design space on level 14 of the Li<\/span><\/span>brary. It\u2019s way more than a physical space, it\u2019s a capability – a new way of thinking, a new way of working. This space is called The IT Launchpad.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Why has The IT LaunchPad been created?<\/span><\/span><\/u><\/p>\n

IT understands that the nature of work is changing, not only at UNSW but everywhere. We realise that it is essential to think differently about how we make our decisions, and get work done.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Because IT is at the centre of the new digital word, The IT LaunchPad enables UNSW IT to work very differently with our customers, as well as fundamentally change the way we work with IT. The IT LaunchPad changes the way we work by allowing the acceleration of cross-stakeholder discussions and highly technical design activities. It will provide a short-term home to mission critical projects which need to be\u00a0turbo charged.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We want to create great partnerships with our stakeholders including, the Faculties and Divisions. So we\u2019re ready to help innovation and to achieve our strategic goals.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

How does The IT LaunchPad add value?<\/span><\/span><\/u><\/p>\n

The IT LauchPad supports the University\u2019s aspirations to become Australia\u2019s global University and help achieve our 2025 Vision. This capability will enable us to disrupt old IT ways of working and accelerate innovation. Our CDO Conrad Mackenzie describes The IT LaunchPad as ‘This is about being totally collaborative, being impatient on time, it is about taking full advantage of all the people in the room’<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We will welcome working groups that are involved in work such as stakeholder collaborative decision making, process design, requirements gathering, customer feedback, alignment, strategic planning, understanding project dependencies and that are IT related and in-line with the 2025 strategy.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The IT LaunchPad will draw on a number of collaborative methodologies such as design thinking, ethnographic research and other consulting methodologies to ensure that events are designed and implemented in a way that brings out the best possible thinking and engagement level from each participant. The team focus on helping groups to stay on track to successfully meet their objectives.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We ran our first session in September and great feedback was received. Participants described this experience as:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u2018\u2026 The environment for today\u2019s workshop was collegiate, very well facilitated and supported the intended outcome – Well done!<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n
