MBA Panel Discussion Event

Students are cordially invited to an upcoming AGSM panel event which will be held on Monday 10th October at the AGSM Building at the UNSW Kensington Campus, Sydney, Australia.

The event will commence at 6:15pm for registration and networking with the Panel discussion commencing at 7:00pm sharp.

The panel discussion will cover the current economy and careers outlook for MBA grads in 2012 and beyond. It will be an interesting evening and we will have a variety of guests attending which will include our new AGSM Director, Chris Styles, HR experts as well as current students from both our full-time and Executive programs, alumni and of course AGSM Recruitment & Admissions staff.

JPMorgan Chase Corporate challenge

The Sydney leg of the JPMorgan Chase Corporate challenge is happening in November:

Date:    Wednesday, 9 November 2011

Place:   Centennial Park, Sydney

Start:    6:30 p.m.

Entry:   $50 per person

The course is 5.6km loop around Centennial park. You can run or walk the course. Last year 290 companies were represented in Sydney and there were almost 6000 participants.

Globally almost 200,000 people participate. JPM donates profits from the race to a local charity in each city (Football United! for Sydney 2011). Participants also receive a quality running t-shirt at the end of the race.

Marketing Competition

AGSM students are invited to a marketing competition in a real world challenge!!

Delivery Hero is a start-up company, and is launching an online delivery service and need to develop and implement a marketing strategy for B2C.

The competition is between MBS, AGSM and University of Sydney. You can participate individually or in groups of 2 people.

It would be a fantastic opportunity to understand more about the competition, the company, the start-up process and the opportunity to do an internship!

Information for GCCM Students:

Opportunity to join the GDM Program

Students who are about to finish their GCCM can consider joining the GDM. The application deadline for Session 1, 2012 is Nov 7th, 2011. Students must submit all documentation by this date.

Students who achieve a WAM of 60% may apply to the Graduate Diploma in Management. Should their application be successful, they would receive three exemptions from the courses Managing People & Organisations, Managerial Skills and Managing Change. You must complete a further five core courses to achieve GDM.

Managerial Skills Intensive weekend 1

The MS Intensive Weekend 1 is scheduled this weekend at the AGSM Building, University of NSW, Kensington campus, Sydney.

Parking is available by ‘Pay & Display’ ticket machines between 7:30am-7:30pm Monday to Friday, on the top 2 levels of Botany Street car park. Parking is free after 7:30pm weekdays, and on weekends. Street parking may also be available.

Course fees include lunches and snacks while attending the workshops. Students are responsible for any other meals and associated travel or accommodation costs. Please click here for a list of local hotels.

Timetable for Intensive Weekend:

Friday 7th Oct:    6pm – 9pm

Saturday 8th Oct:   9am – 5pm

Sunday 9th Oct:   9am – 4pm

Students are required to complete work and readings prior to attending the residential.

Tax Invoices

If you require a tax invoice, please contact UNSW Treasury to request one.  Treasury needs the request from students in writing which you can do by sending an email to treasury@unsw.edu.au (N.B: enter “NS Student AGSM Tax Invoice / Receipt” as the subject and ensure you list your name, student ID and the UNSW Semester – i.e. Summer, Semester 1 or Semester 2).
