Creative Degrees: Art, Design & Media Showcase

Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences

Environmental Humanities Taster Lecture

This taster lecture explores the complex topic of extinction. In particular, should we be launching elaborate and expensive captive breeding programs to save the last whooping cranes; should we be evicting local people from conservation areas to save endangered elephants; should we be cloning and resurrecting species like the Tasmanian tiger that have already gone extinct? Join us to get involved in the discussion.

Industrial Design

Industrial designers shape the way we live through the design of things we use every day. The profession demands imagination, technical capability and a keen awareness of new possibilities. Designers consider the technical aspects of design together with how things are used and experienced by people in diverse settings. At this lecture, you will find out about this degree from an expert Industrial Design academic; learn how being curious and inventive is the foundation to being a design student; hear how this degree will teach you design process, visual communication and more. You’ll also hear from a current student about their experience and from an alumnus about careers in the built environment.

Biomedical Engineering Taster Lecture

Biomedical Engineering is one of the fastest growing fields in the world, and graduates are highly sought after. Biomedical engineering is the application of engineering techniques and analysis to problem solving in medicine and the biological sciences. The engineering disciplines embraced within the scope of Biomedical Engineering include: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Chemical Engineering. Biomedical Engineering provides a direct input to enhancing the quality and scope of health care through the application of engineering analysis to biological systems and introducing engineering principles to medical and surgical interventions.

Mock Law Class

The UNSW Law School has a very distinctive character, inspired by a founding vision of legal education committed to law as a service profession, dedicated to the fundamental principles of the rule of law, human rights and justice for all. UNSW Law School is where Law meets Justice. Become a law student for a day and experience our unique culture by attending one of our mock law classes.


Faculty of Medicine

Medicine Faculty Lecture

Attend this lecture to learn all about the Faculty of Medicine and the different degrees and pathways available to students. All courses are interdisciplinary and highly integrated, both vertically and horizontally: biomedical sciences are integrated with one another and with the social and psychological sciences. The scientific basis of medicine and clinical experience go hand in hand throughout all years of the program. Learning is student-centred, intellectually challenging and diverse in order to respond to student needs. It promotes the value of experience, reflection and personal growth. The explicit aim is to graduate lifelong learners of medicine. We are also excited to announce our new Bachelor of International Public Health (BIPH) which offers a unique virtual classroom experience.
