Universitat Pompeu Fabra and  the University of California-Los Angeles are launching a new international summer program  “Global Cities: Barcelona-Los Angeles”.

As a last project of internationalization, “Global Cities” has been conceived to provide students with a comparative perspective in the areas of Humanities, Political Science and Communication Studies, core areas of expertise of the hosting institutions, by building on the creativity, the industries and the social, political and cultural background of the host cities: Barcelona and Los Angeles.

The program is divided in two modules of six weeks, the first in Barcelona at UPF (June 25-Agust 3) and the next in Los Angeles at UCLA (August 6-September 14). It includes courses in the domains of History, Politics, Literature, Mass Media Studies and Visual and Performing Arts. Hands-on documentary workshops and field studies will add value to this enriching academic experience.  Non-Spanish speaking students may supplement the enrolment in content courses with the study of Spanish language at different levels.

Please, find detailed information, course syllabi, registration procedures and fees here: www.upf.edu/internationalsummerschool

NB: UNSW is a partner of UPF and UCLA and therefore students are entitled to reduced fees.

UNSW students who wish to attend must complete the GEP_Outgoing_UNSW applicationv2 and return to advisor4globaled@unsw.edu.au by June 4th 2012. If selected they will be required to submit a secondary application by June 15th 2012.
