Australian School of Business Annual Alumni cocktail event

Each November alumni and Sydney’s business elite gather for an evening of fine food and networking at the Annual Alumni Cocktail Event.

This year’s guest speaker is Ann Sherry, AO is one of Australia’s most respected business leaders. She is also a member of the Australian School of Business Advisory Council.

Ann has had an extensive career in banking and is now successfully running Australasia’s largest cruise ship operation, Carnival Australia.

Ann will speak on the Topic: Managing risk in a risky world.

Save the date! The ASB alumni and current students end-of-year Twilight Sailing Race and Dinner is fast approaching!

When: 5:30pm Wednesday 14 December 2011

Where: Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club, Keane’s Point, Hobb’s Place, Peppermint Grove WA

Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club is kindly providing us with three boats and three captains to enter the twilight race – what an opportunity! All we need to do is sit back, enjoy a glass of champagne with a few canapés and hopefully finish 1, 2 and 3!

Please note:

–          Dinner and drinks at the Club will follow (pay as you go).

–          $20 per person upon registration – to cover drinks and nibbles on the boat.

Invitations including details on how to register will be sent to all WA alumni and students soon.

The Global Social Venture Competition (GSVC)

The Global Social Venture Competition (GSVC) was launched in 1999 by the Haas School of Business of the University of California at Berkeley, USA. It is the largest and longest-running social business plan competition which promotes entrepreneurial start-up companies which offer measurable social or environmental benefits in addition to profits.

GSVC is a great opportunity for young entrepreneurs to showcase their business ideas to bring sustainable social transformation. Winning teams will get a chance to represent the Region in the Global Finals at UC Berkeley, USA; win prize money in total of USD 16,000 to grow the business. Participants will meet interesting, like-minded teams from around Southeast Asia and build a future network with world-class though-leaders in social entrepreneurship, as well as investors.

Information for Session 3 Students:

Accounting & Financial Management Midsession Examinations – Saturday 29th October

The Accounting and Financial Management midsession exams are scheduled this Saturday 29th October.

All NSW based students will sit the exam at the Mechanical Engineering Building, Room 405, Level 4, University of NSW, Gate 13 (Gate 14 for Parking), Barker Street.

Please make sure you read both the schedule and exam information documents as there have been recent changes to the venue locations.

Interstate students are to sit the exam in their home state according to courier address.

We encourage you to visit our website on a regular basis in order to obtain the most up-to-date information.

Mid Session Examination, Special Arrangements

Students with physical or medical conditions requiring special arrangements for their midsession examination are required to submit the Special Arrangements form to the Program Office no later than today, Monday 24th October.
