GENEVA SUMMER SCHOOLS
Geneva Summer Schools at the University of Geneva (UNIGE) offer a selection of short courses in a variety of subjects during the summer months. Taught in English by faculty from UNIGE and international partner institutions, the high quality academic courses provide a global perspective on issues in the social sciences, the humanities, the sciences, and interdisciplinary fields. In addition, students have the possibility of taking French language classes at the university. Upon successful completion of their course, ECTS credits may be awarded.
2012 Summer school courses
Understanding Global Governance
June 25 – July 13, 2012
This three-week course in Geneva will explore issues related to global governance and international politics. Students will be immersed in the international world of Geneva as they pursue an interdisciplinary and multilingual program that will provide them with a truly global perspective on current affairs. During this course students will explore issues at the heart of global governance combining lectures in English, intensive French classes and visits to key international organizations in Geneva.
International Education Policy and Governance
July 8 – July 27, 2012
This program is designed for graduate students and future policy-makers interested in thinking more critically about issues of globalization and education and in incorporating international, comparative and intercultural perspectives into their analysis of education, curriculum and pedagogy. The program will also prepare students for careers in the public or private sector and will include meetings and discussions with professionals from a wide range of education professions in Geneva and internationally (UNESCO, ILO, World Bank, among others).
