The University of Geneva Summer School 2014

Do you want to study in Switzerland this summer? At one of the world’s top-ranked and most international universities?

The University of Geneva is still accepting applications for 2014 summer courses. Check out their courses, read student testimonials and view photo albums on their website!

This summer, Geneva are proposing 12 exciting courses in global governance, international law, children’s rights and humanitarian action, and more. They are also offering courses in French literature, cultural heritage law, and micro finance.

As a partner institution of the University of Geneva, UNSW students will receive a reduction of 500 CHF on summer school tuition fees.

University of Exeter’s International Summer School 2014

A small number of places at the University of Exeter’s International Summer School programme are still available! The program takes place from 5 – 26 July 2014 and the courses offered are below:

Silk Road International Summer School

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University of Humanities is offering their first summer programme on Chinese culture, called Silk Road International Summer School. It is a 3-week programme (July 6th – 27th) learning Chinese culture in English. The programme will be conducted in HK PolyU (1 week) and Xi’an Jiaotong University (2 weeks). 2 credit-bearing subjects will be taught during the 3 weeks and field trips in Xi’an will be arranged.

The programme is opened to all international students and the programme fee costs HKD50,160 (around AUD6,900). However, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University are kindly offering 5 scholarships to UNSW students to help supplement the costs of the program. Scholarship recipients will only have to pay HKD8,450 (approx. $1200AUD). This will include:

1. Tuition fee for two subjects

2. Package in Hong Kong:

– accommodation during the programme period, i.e. the night of 6 July to 12/13 July and the night of 26 July 2014

– transportation and admission fees of the scheduled study visits

3. Package for travelling in Xi’an includes:

– transportation costs from Hong Kong to Xi’an and Xi’an to Hong Kong on scheduled dates

– accommodation during the programme period, i.e. 12/13 July to the night of 25 July 2014

– transportation and admission fees of the scheduled study visits

– meals in Xi’an

 

On top of the HKD8,450 fee students will need to cover:

1. HKD450 application fee (approx. $62AUD)

2. Roundtrip air ticket between Hong Kong and home city

3. Meals in Hong Kong

Global Business Practicum in Indonesia

The Australian School of Business has been successful in securing funding from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade for the COMM3020 Global Business Practicum in July 2014. This undergraduate course will run from 2 – 25 July in Jakarta, Indonesia. The funding under the New Colombo Plan of $3000 per student will cover accommodation, flights, visa and food and means that there is very little cost to students who are Australian citizens (normal tuition fees apply).

There are a limited number of places available for this course. If you are interested in participating an Expression of Interest is required before Tuesday 20th May.

The Australian Friends of the Hebrew University Scholarship for Israel Business Innovation Short Courses in Jerusalem

This Scholarship is offered to Australian students of outstanding academic achievement who have completed at least one year of undergrad in Business, NFP Management, Economics, and Entrepreneurship to undertake a Summer Program at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

The Scholarship will cover the tuition and housing costs of one of the courses listed below. In addition the student will receive a stipend of AUD 1,000.

The Scholarship is subject to acceptance to one of the courses listed below, by the Rothberg International School of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

All courses run at the Hebrew University between July 3 – 31, 2014, include 45 academic hours, and are taught in English. The scholarship will be given towards only one of the courses below, however students can apply to study more than one course simultaneously.

The Leon Fink Scholarship for Middle Eastern Studies Short Programs at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem

This Scholarship is administered by the Australian Friends of the Hebrew University Jerusalem Limited together with Mr Leon Fink, to students of outstanding academic achievement from Australia to undertake a Middle Eastern Studies Summer Program at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

The Scholarship will cover the tuition and housing costs of one of the courses listed below. In addition the student will receive a stipend AUD 1,000.

The Scholarship is subject to acceptance to one of the courses listed below, by the Rothberg International School of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

JENESYS 2.0 Invitation Programme – Mass Media

The Embassy of Japan in Australia has announced that applications for the JENESYS 2.0 Invitation Programme – Mass Media (Journalism, Multimedia & Blogging) are now being accepted.

JENESYS (Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youth) 2.0 is a new youth exchange programme designed for students of Asia and Oceania and aims to promote interest as well as awareness and understanding of Japan and Japanese values.

This programme is focused on the area of mass media, so it is ideal for students studying media, journalism, information and communication. It is open to all students regardless of Japanese ability, as the programme will be conducted entirely in English.

The JENESYS 2.0 Invitation – Mass Media programme will run from 23 June – 1 July 2014.

Applicants are required to be Australian citizens aged between 18 and 30 and currently studying at an Australian university.

JENESYS 2.0 Invitation Programme – Science and Technology

The Embassy of Japan in Australia has announced that applications for the JENESYS 2.0 Invitation Programme – Science and Technology – are now being accepted.

2014 Mexican Government Excellence Scholarship Program for Foreign Students

The Mexican Embassy has announced Mexico’s Scholarship Program for Foreigners.

The Directorate General for Educational and Cultural Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, through the Academic Exchange Department, designs and manages the Ministry of Foreign Affairs´ Scholarship Program for Foreigners.

The scholarships of the Mexican Government have two branches: for academic studies and for special programs.

The scholarships for academic studies are offered to take complete programs for Specialization, Master´s or PhD Degrees, and Postgraduate Researches. The offer includes academic mobility for Bachelor´s and Postgraduate Degrees.

The scholarships for special programs are offered to take short-term fellowships addressed to Visiting Professors, Researchers in Mexico´s issues, Art Production Fellowships, etc.
