AU Summer University, Denmark 2013

In 2011, Aarhus University launched an extended summer programme “AU Summer University”. The programme consists of a portfolio of courses taught in English at Bachelor, Master and PhD level within the fields of Humanities, Theology, Social Sciences, Health Sciences, Natural Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Business and Educational Sciences.

In 2012 Aarhus were running 62 courses taught by Danish and international guest lecturers from all over the world. All teaching at AU Summer University is based on current research and has a strong international perspective. The close link between research and education ensures the quality and depth of the courses.

AU Summer University welcomes Danish and international full-time students, exchange students, and free movers. Class sizes range from 20-40 students. In 2012 more than 1200 Danish and international students decided to spend part of their summer taking specialized, intensive courses.

Along with the academic programme, they offer accommodation service, visa service and a social programme for both lecturers and students.

In 2012 95% of the students (answering the evaluation) would recommend the programme to their friends.

Tuition fees are waived for UNSW students (note that other costs such as accommodation are the responsibility of the students).

Lee Kuan Yew Global Business Plan Competition: 2013.

This is a competition organised specially for undergraduate, college and polytechnic students around the world, and the competition continues to be a platform for entrepreneurs of tomorrow. Participants will be able to showcase their business plans and entrepreneurial talents on a global stage, attract seed funding to further their business ambitions as well as extend their network of friends and business contacts through the competition. 

Participants stand to win up to US$60,000 in cash, prizes and business development opportunities. Overseas finalists will receive 5 night hotel stay in Singapore for 2 core team members.

University of Mannheim Business Summer School Program 2013

The summer school takes place from the end of June to mid July and consists of three modules. In 2013 the dates will be:

Module 1: 23 June – 2 July 2013

Module 2: 30 June – 9 July 2013

Module 3: 7 July – 16 July 2013

Students can take one module, two modules or three modules depending on their needs.  

Students will receive 4 ECTS for each module. The fees are EUR 890 for one module and EUR 790 for every further module. The fees include accommodation, tuition, several cultural excursions and some meals. This is a great deal! Nanyang Technological University: Summer Research Internship (SRI) programme 2013

Nanyang Technological University is pleased to announce the launch of the fourth Summer Research Internship (SRI) programme 2013.  SRI 2013 shall commence from 03 June 2013 to 26 July 2013.

The Summer Research Internship (SRI) Programme is a university wide programme initiated to stimulate a culture of research for the overseas undergraduates.

Overseas undergraduate students selected to participate in this programme shall have the opportunity to develop research interest, a strong sense of cross-cultural intelligence, gain a network of friends and a better understanding of Singapore. 

Eligible overseas undergraduate students will be expected to fulfil up to a 8-week research attachment comprising project work at NTU with waiver on research fee and awarded with an one-off allowance amounting up to S$3,000. Each successful applicant awarded with the SRI grant shall be counted as a spot of exchange.

The Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme (JET)

Are you interested in Japan or Japanese culture?

Are you passionate about education and making a difference in a local community?

Are you graduating soon and looking to gain valuable, international work experience?

The Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme, or JET, is run by the Government of Japan and is aimed at promoting grass-roots international exchange between Japan and other nations. The Programme is in its 26th year and is one of the most respected international exchange programmes in the world. If you have completed a university degree and are an Australian citizen, then you are eligible to apply to the Programme as either and Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) or Coordinator of International Relations (ClR).

As an ALT, you work in Japanese schools, from elementary to high school level, assisting in teaching English and engaging the students in their learning.

CIRs work in local government offices and carry out a wide range of tasks from translating, interpreting, coordinating events and running community English classes.

If you are interested in learning more about what the JET programme has to offer, the Consulate-General of Japanwill be holding an information session at UNSW on Friday 5th October 2012.

Centre for Marine Bio-Innovation: UNSW Summer Course

The course is open to students world-wide who are currently enrolled in post graduate programs or those recently graduated (last five years) with a PhD (or equivalent) in the area of marine science and/or microbiology. As there is a limited number of places, admission will be based on merit and the applicant’s ability to demonstrate a strong interest in gaining further knowledge in microbial diversity and function in the marine

Australia-Korea Internship Program (AKIP)

The International Leaders Program (ILP) is pleased to announce its upcoming annual Australia-Korea Internship Program (AKIP), an initiative funded by the Australia-Korea Foundation and Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.  

Applications are open to students from all states and territories in Australia who are studying a postgraduate degree, or in their senior year of an undergraduate degree in one of the following faculties/departments: economics, commerce, finance, accounting, business, marketing, information and communications technology and international trade. In addition, applicants must be an Australian citizen to be eligible to apply.

The program is a 7-week internship, beginning from the 5th January 2013 through the 23rd February 2013, with a deadline for applications set on Monday 1st October 2012.
