DTU Summer University program 2011

Technical University of Denmark offers the following Summer University courses in 2011:

  • Chemical & Biochemical Engineering: July 11th – July 30st
  • Tele communication, July 25th – August 12th
  • Arctic Technology, August 1st – August 19th
  • Sustainable energy, June 20th – July 8th

The DTU Summer University Program offers courses with instruction entirely in English language for BSc students of engineering or related natural science programs. Students from the EU or from DTU partner universities outside EU are invited to come to DTU for a 2-4 weeks period. During the summer the students will follow one of the offered DTU Summer University courses. After passing the course the student is awarded a certificate and ascribed 5 ECTS study credits.

Students from our partner universities attend the course for free – they only have to pay an accommodation fee for 300 Euro*. However, DTU has a number of scholarships to cover cost of accommodation for the best performing Summer University Students. (*Except Arctic Technology and Danish Language and Culture course – see the specific prices at the DTU website.)

DTU also offers a 3 week Danish Language & Culture Course, July 31st – 20st.The course is offered to all ERASMUS (EILC) students and to MSc students accepted at DTU. More information can be found on our website: http://www.dtu.dk/English/education/Summer%20University/DanishLanguageandCulture.aspx

A stay at the DTU Summer University comprises:

  • Professional prepared academic and scientific course content
  • Accommodation at DTU Campus*

Summer in San Francisco – Legal Institute 2011

University of California Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco will be offering several short courses in Alternative Dispute Resolution and International Business Transactions.

 For students who are interested in pursuing an LL.M. in U.S. Law, these short courses give an excellent introduction to what studying at Hastings would be like.

GIST 2011 Fall Research / Internship

Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) in Korea has internship program every year which provide a great chance to go to GIST for 4 month. GIST have strong financial support and wonderful research environment and devices.

Program: Research in a Laboratory you apply & up to 2 class as a Auditor.

Period: Sep. 1st ~ Dec. 22th(2011 Fall semester)

Financial support: 50% of Return flight ticket, Free dormitory, Free tuition. & GIST IPA support 300,000 won for a living a month.

EVA Junior Fellows Network – Finland

EVA Junior Fellows Network for international students, researchers and young graduates was launched in 2003. The aim of the network is to build partnerships between young talents and the Finnish business community. EVA selects every year 20 new Junior Fellows for a period of two years. Junior Fellows are invited to a two-day seminar, which is organised in Helsinki at the end of August every year. The seminar provides the Junior Fellows a possibility to exchange ideas with Finnish business leaders and experts from different sectors.

Hanyang International Summer School (HISS) program

HISS operates between late June to late July, and we offer more than 40 courses in diverse areas, all taught in English. The total number of participants in 2010 was 432 (approx. 200 from the U.S., 50 of whom were students at our partner universities) and we are expecting around 600 participants in 2011.

 For students from our partner universities, we offer various incentives including:  

 – Free Enrollment

Students who come as exchange students from our partner universities can take advantage of a full tuition waiver and free accommodations (totaling approx. US$3,000).  These students must be recommended by their home university international offices. The number of exchange students and related matters can be open to further discussion. 

– Faculty-led Program (For more information, please refer to the attached leaflet)

We also invite instructors from our partner universities.  Faculty members who join the program with +5 students can deliver a course(s) of their interest to both their home university students and other international students participating in HISS. The benefits for faculty members are remuneration, airfare, accommodations, and student mentoring incentives.

Summer courses at University of Amsterdam

University of Amsterdam would like to offer partial scholarships to students from U21 partners to attend one of three summer courses: 

1) Social Policies & Pragmatic Tolerance – A three week programme for undergraduate students on subjects such as immigration, drugs and sex work. There are 10 scholarships of 400 Euro available for students of U21 partners. The tuition fee will be 1400 Euro. 2) Alcohol, Drugs and Addiction as a Global Problem – A two week programme for graduate students which provides a multi disciplinary approach to the study of addiction. There will be 5 scholarships available of 300 Euro for students of U21 partners. 3) Sexuality, Culture and Society – An intensive four week programme for graduate (including PhD) students which focuses on the study of sexuality across cultures. There will be 3 scholarships available of 400 Euro for students of U21 partners. The tuition fee will be 2300 Euro. Scholarships are available for U21 members. Tuition includes excursions, lecture fees, lunches on class days, access to the university’s libraries and computer facilities and a city transport pass. The tuition does not include travel to and from Amsterdam or housing.

Dutch students do Australian Master of Water Resources

 Students from the Netherlands, Germany and Scotland have signed up to join ICE WaRM’s multi award winning Master of Water Resources Programme from the start of Semester 1 in 2011, under the Australia-European Union SWaRM Exchange Scheme.

Students from the Technical University of Delft will be joined by students from the Technical University of Dresden and Dundee University.

The EU-AU exchange also gives eligible Australian students the chance to study at one of these three European universities.

Australian students in the fourth year of a water related discipline at an ICE WaRM partner university and current post-graduates, including students enrolled in the ICE WaRM Master of Water Resources Management, are eligible to take part in the exchange scheme.

The Global Manager in Europe

Summer Module “The Global Manager in Europe”, which will take place this year from June 20 to July 8, 2011. This 3-week program, aimed at the MBA participants of our partner institutions, focuses on management practices in Europe and draws on several of the fields of expertise of ESSEC.

Research Summer School – Angers Medical School (FRANCE)

National Taiwan University’s Summer Programs

National Taiwan University’s Summer Programs for the summer semester 2011.

At present there are two programs available in the Summer+ Program series:

1.      Exploring Taiwan @ NTU, Summer Intensive Program for Chinese & Culture : August 1st ~ 26th 2011 (4 weeks)

2.      Exploring Taiwan@ NTU, Summer Program for Laboratory Research and Culture: July 18th ~ 26th 2011 (6 weeks)

Both are credit programs that combine the Exploring Taiwan lecture series with either an intensive Chinese language course or laboratory research.

In 2010 National Taiwan University ran its first Summer+ Programs, welcoming students from over the world. It is our hope that NTU’s newly expanded range of study opportunities will complement our already solid partner relationship and meet the study abroad and research needs of your students. As such, we are offering our partner schools a US$400 discount, for an all inclusive fee of US $2,600. Information in the form of printed brochures has been sent to your institution last week.
