Singapore Management University Global Summer Programme 2015: Business, Innovation & Society in Asia

We are pleased to announce that SMU will be launching its inaugural Global Summer Program, from 29 June to 24 July 2015. Upon completing the four weeks of studying, students have the option of embarking on a 1 week overseas Learning Journey to another Asian city.

Students must take 2 courses out of a list of 10 courses. Courses include Asia Pacific Business, The Business of ‘Fun’; Managing in a Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous (VUCA) context, amongst others.

Contact hours: 36 hours per course (3 hours per class; 3 classes/week for 4 weeks)

Hong Kong PolyU Silk Road International Summer School 2015

We are delighted to inform you that the PolyU SILK ROAD International Summer School 2015 will take place from 5 to 25 July 2015.

Students will have the opportunity to select 2 subjects to take. The summer school will also feature cultural activities and time for individual city exploration.

Geneva Summer Schools 2015 applications now open!

Geneva Summer Schools is happy to announce that applications are now open for 2015 courses!

This summer, Geneva is offering 18 courses in a variety of disciplines including global environment, international law, global health, cultural heritage law, internet law, humanitarian action and global governance.

Hanyang University’s International Summer School (HISS) 2015

Spots are currently open for students interested in studying at Korea’s Hanyang University’s International Summer School (HISS) 2015.  The summer school period runs from July 6th– July 31st and features various field trips and up to 70 courses to choose from.

The University of Leeds International Summer School (LISS) 2015

Interested in studying in England during the winter break? Attending The University of Leeds International Summer School (LISS) is a great opportunity to do so! LISS runs for 4 weeks from 3rd July – 2nd August 2015.

Students who participate will select 2 courses from a wide range of topics and subject areas. In addition, students have the opportunity to participate in experiential field trips and cultural excursions. This summer program offers a 2-day trip to London as well as excursions closer to home and social events during the week and at weekends.

Fees: Students will need to pay fees directly to Leeds.

Application: Applications for LISS 2015 are now open. UNSW students who apply should also complete the Global Education Registration Form and return it to advisor4globaled@unsw.edu.au.

Universitas 21 Undergraduate Research Conference July 6th-10th 2015

The 2015 Universitas 21 Undergraduate Research Conference (URC) will take place at The University of Auckland in New Zealand. This conference is an amazing opportunity for students to present their research, network and connect with students and staff from around the world and travel to Auckland, New Zealand.

Nomination: To apply for this program UNSW Students must complete the GEP Application Form and email toadvisor4globaled@unsw.edu.au. Please indicate on the application form whether you intend to prepare and deliver an oral presentation or submit and present a designed poster.

Deadline: The deadline for nomination is March 20th 2015 at 9am.

Sciences Po’s 2015 Summer School

Sciences Po will offer a four-week social sciences and French language session from July 3rd– July 30th. This exciting programme is a great way for students  to discover Sciences Po over the course of a summer at their Paris campus.

There will be two tracks of study to choose from.

  • A social sciences track, where students will select one typical Sciences Po class for intensive study over the course of 48 contact hours. Classes are led by Sciences Po professors in either English or French. Students of this track also have the option to add on an additional 36 hours of French language study.
  • A French language track, where participants are placed at one of six levels adapted to their knowledge of the language. Over the course of 80 contact hours, students take a variety of courses intended to improve understanding and knowledge of French, practice real-life situations, and delve into social sciences topics through Sciences Po lecture classes.

Housing options are available for students at the Cité Universitaire Internationale de Paris.

How to Apply: Applications will be accepted starting in January 2015 and will end Friday March 20th at 9am. Tecnun Summer School in Spain

An opportunity has risen for students to travel to Spain to participate in short program courses. Course dates are

  • January 13th to February 7th and;
  • January 20th– February 14th

The program offered will be a language course which will include:

  • Language & Culture courses
  • European and Spanish business and economy seminars
  • Visits to remarkable  industrial companies in the area
  • Social and leisure programs including:
    • “Tapas” tour and Gastronomic Club dinners
    • Traditional Basque cider house dinner
    • Basque fishing village tour
    • South-western France coastal tour
    • Day trips to museums, scenic areas and wine vineyards
    • Surfing  and sailing courses with accredited teachers
    • Sevillanas and Flamenco class
    • Weekend in Barcelona

A limited number of exchange places may be available for this program.

Airport pick-up will be provided. Students will need to provide funding to cover accommodation costs.

The estimated accommodation cost is 800€ for an individual room at either a University Residence in San Sebastian or shared apartments in Pamplona.

Students will be given the opportunity to participate in optional self-paid activities such as ski trips and weekend trips.

2015 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation is pleased to announce the (APEC) Internships in Singapore

APEC will be offering two internships:

1. The 6 month APEC Communications and Public Affairs Internship

The intern will work full-time in the APEC Secretariat Communications and Public Affairs Unit and assist with a variety of communications tasks including: compiling news media articles, posting content on social media, database management, and developing news releases, articles, videos, website content and power point presentations.

The APEC Secretariat offers a small stipend of $600 Singapore dollars a month to help finance the intern’s stay in Singapore.

2. The 3 month APEC Secretariat Internship

The APEC Secretariat Internship Framework (ASIF) is open to students who are nationals or permanent residents of APEC member economies. The internship attracts a large number of highly qualified candidates and provides them with the opportunity to work in a leading international organisation.

 

Students will need to organize their own accommodation for this internship.

POSTECH Winter Program – Pohang University of Science and Technology, Korea

Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) are pleased to offer the POSTECH Winter Program, which will give students opportunities to conduct research at POSTECH and experience unique Korean cultures in winter!

The POSTECH Winter Program will be held for 5 weeks from 12 January – 13 February, 2015. Participants will be supervised by our professors, and student buddies will be assigned to help them for 5 weeks. Students (undergraduates only) will receive monthly stipend of KRW 250,000 per month.

Students will need to pay for accommodation, food, air ticket and living expenses.

A limited number of exchange places may be available for this program.
