Internships for Australians in Korea under the Asian Century Business Engagement Plan

The Australian Chamber of Commerce (AustCham) in Korea is inviting applications for the ‘Korea Internship Program for Small and Medium-sized Businesses’, under the Asian Century Business Engagement (ACBE) Plan 2013–14.

AustCham in Korea was a recipient of ACBE funding from Austrade. The internship initiative will support six interns (maximum) to be employed at Australian or Korean SMEs in Korea for up to three months. Applications close on 27 October.

The objective of the ACBE program is to facilitate new initiatives to improve Australian business links into Asia, through Australian business organisations based in Australia or in Asia.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • current enrolment in a bachelor, master’s or PhD degree (or a graduate within the last two years)
  • a demonstrated interest in living and working in Korea
  • eligibility and availability to complete an internship of up to three months in Korea between December 2013 and May 2014

Key notes about the program:

  • successful applicants will be employed at a small or medium-sized business located in Korea
  • applicants with some Korean-language skills will be preferred
  • final internship dates will be agreed with successful applicants (note that December to February is winter in Korea)
  • travel and basic living expenses will be provided (full remuneration details will be provided to successful applicants only)
