The UNSW Confucius Institute is delighted to cooperate again with SJTU to organize this unique study tour for students interested in the Business World of China. Students will need at least a Basic Level of Mandarin to be able to benefit from local company visits to places such as Bao Steel and UPS, and language classes held by SJTU.

The Shanghai Study Tour is an intensive 14-day program in July 2014. It provides students the opportunity to directly experience life in Shanghai, which is rapidly emerging as one of the world’s most economically vibrant and diverse metropolises.

The Offer

Tuition fees, accommodation, local transportation, meals and excursions are fully covered by the Confucius Institute. Students are required to pay for return international airfares, visa application fees and other on the ground expenses.

Eligibility

The study tours are open to all UNSW undergraduate students in all faculties that have an interest in Chinese language and culture.

Applicants from all disciplines and career stages are encouraged to apply. The ideal applicants might currently or previously enrol in Chinese learning programs inside or outside university.

The application process is extremely competitive and students are required to attend a panel interview and demonstrate a firm interest in Chinese language and culture, an open and mature mindset to international travel and developing countries and some Chinese language proficiency.
