Global Education is a high priority at UNSW. Global Education options are being embedded across all undergraduate degree programs through the introduction of a range of international programs. Student safety and well-being is a vital part of our office’s operation.

To ensure young travellers are more aware of the risks overseas and better prepared to deal with situations when they go wrong, the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has created a new guide to assist travelers to understand and buy travel insurance.

The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade department encourages more students travelling overseas for study or a holiday to subscribe to the free country travel advice (or through Facebook/twitter), so they receive emailed updates each time the department reissues new risks.

Students can also access the ‘young travellers’ page and a new CHOICE-DFAT-Travel Insurance Cheat Sheet created for students which highlights the range of issues they should consider as part of any overseas trip.
