In 2012 Aarhus Summer University are offering 78 courses within Business, Economics, Political science, Law, Psychology, Communication, Media, Theology, Culture, Health, Bio Science, Geo Science, Food Science and Mathematics. All courses are taught in English at Bachelor, Master, and PhD level.

Spring University Prague 2012 at Charles University

East goes west – West goes east? Searching for a new European order after 1990

April 16th – April 27th 2012
The objective of the Spring University Prague 2012, is to provide students with a broad understanding of the political, economic, social, and cultural development of Europe after 1990. The course provides an interdisciplinary approach and combines multiple learning methods, such as lectures, workshops, round-table discussions, group-work and student presentations.
Students will not only have the opportunity to explore a range of interesting topics and gain valuable insights into the current challenges and risks to the development of Europe, but will also improve their research and presentation skills. Moreover, the numerous free-time activities will provide a chance to enjoy the wide range of attractions that Prague has to offer.

European Summer Program – Lille Catholic University

The European Summer Program is composed of two 4-week-courses (ESP1 from June 01 to June 28; ESP2 from June 29 to July 20). All courses fulfil ECTS standards and are taught in English (except as specified). Students can choose from a large variety of electives.

The program has been designed as a real “package”, including academic courses, curriculum-related field trips, personalized assistance, accommodation on the campus, and provides breakfast and lunch during weekdays—another advantage especially for students travelling for a first time. Global Leadership Program

2012 Global Leadership Program in Prague: applications now open!

The Thirteenth Annual Global Leadership Program is a comprehensive four-week program in Prague, Czech Republic that includes: university courses, cultural activities, and community service. The program is open to undergraduate university students from around the world and is held from the 1 – 31 July 2012.

Students will complete two full academic courses: one core unit and one elective.

  1. The core course is Philosophies of Leadership is a dynamic and interactive class that considers different leadership styles and philosophies and how they apply to modern day business, political and community leaders.
  2. There are four elective courses to choose from: Global Business, Social Entrepreneurship, Human Rights or Media, Democracy, and Development.

Credit and funding

  • Up to $5824 in government funding available for eligible students. More info on the OS-HELP website.
  • This program may be able to count as an elective towards your degree, subject to approval from your faculty. More info

National Air and Space Museum Summer Internship Program

The National Air and Space Museum offers an exciting work experience to college and university students through its Summer Internship Program. Interns have a firsthand opportunity to learn about the historic artifacts and archival materials housed in the Museum and to study the scientific and technological advances they represent.

Location and Schedule

Most interns work in the National Air and Space Museum on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Some work at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, Virginia or at the Paul E. Garber Preservation, Restoration, and Storage Facility in Suitland, Maryland. A commitment of 10 weeks during the summer is required. Full-time interns work 40 hours per week from approximately the first week in June until the second week in August.

Stipend and Housing

A $5,500 stipend is provided to help interns defray expenses. Information on lodging resources are provided upon selection as an intern, but interns are responsible for locating and securing lodging.

 Eligibility

To be considered for a summer internship, you must be a high school graduate and be enrolled in a degree-granting undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited college or university. You are expected to have a strong academic record. Applicants from outside the U.S. are welcome! More information for international interns is available on the intern orientation web site.

 How to Apply

Applications are accepted from January 15 to February 15 during the calendar year of the internship. Interns are notified of the status of their application by April 1. Visit the Smithsonian Online Academic Appointment System (SOLAA) Web site to apply.

  • Two letters of recommendation.

Universidad Pontificia Comillas: 2012 SPANISH LANGUAGE AND CULTURE COURSE

As in previous years,  Universidad Pontificia Comillas if offering a high-quality summer session in Spanish Language and Culture, which will take place from May 21 to June 15 2012, in Madrid, Spain. Universidad Pontificia Comillas will also offer courses, which are taught in Spanish, for those students with an upper-intermediate or advanced level in this language, in a summer session to be held from June 4 to June 29 2012. Students can choose from courses in the fields of business administration, finance, marketing, management, law, human and social sciences, international relations, and political communication.

Each course consists of a total of 60 contact hours (Spanish Language and Culture) or 80 contact hours for the other programmes. The theoretical courses are enhanced by field trips to businesses and institutions and public and private organizations, and by cultural visits to the El Escorial Monastery and the Prado Museum.

The courses are given by a carefully selected teaching staff, a combination of instructors and professionals of recognized prestige, from the worlds of academia and business. The program is aimed at foreign and Spanish university students who wish to acquire international experience at a Spanish university, by expanding their horizons in the disciplines offered. French Embassy Internship Program – BioMerieux

Within the framework of  ‘the French Company Internship Program’,  ‘BioMérieux/BTF’, has opened up an Internship position based in both in Australia and France.  This Australian based French Company is looking for a Business background student (preferably marketing) for a six month internship beginning this January 2012 (2 months in Australia + 3 months in France + 1 month in Australia). There is room for discussion on the timeline.

In Australia, the intern will be based in Sydney or Brisbane and in France he/she will be based in BioMerieux head office in Lyon.

Hosted by the Department of Southeast Asian Studies, this Summer School Programme is designed to provide students with the opportunity to live, study, and travel together, making it a valuable learning experience that extends beyond normal classroom-related activities. Winter Japanese Language Program

Meiji Japanese Language Education Center will continue in the summer of 2011, a new Japanese short-term training programs in February 2012.

In this program, “Cool Japan” focuses on Japanese culture called, in particular, so that meaningful training for people interested in manga and anime, the manga and anime subcultures like geek culture, and clothing asked subjects to reach a wide range of traditional culture, has become what can be learned from various angles you have to take Japanese language and culture.

Highly motivated participants can expect Meiji University’s up-to-date educational, media and facilities on hand.
